Annual Report on the progress of RECCA was presented during a ceremony in the ministry of foreign affairs. The ceremony was attended by a number of friendly countries ambassadors and diplomats, representatives of international organizations, deputy ministers, heads and representatives of a numbers of economic ministries and entities.
While welcoming the participants, the Deputy Foreign Minister for Economic Cooperation in her inaugural statement thanked the active participation of international community, especially regional countries participation in Brussels Conference and its sidelines regional economic cooperation events, and discussed the progress in regional economic projects including inauguration of TAPI gas pipeline project, inauguration of construction of CASA-1000 and signing of trilateral agreement of Chahbahar.
Subsequently, Senior Advisor to the President on infrastructure and Technology Dr. Mohammad Humayon Qayoumi fully briefed the participants regarding the implementation of infrastructure projects in regional level, and quoted from the Excellency President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan: “Afghanistan wants to be converted into Regional Square and regional cooperation comprises the backbone of our foreign policy.”
At the end, some of the participants raised their viewpoints and questions regarding Annual Report of RECCA and future programs in the framework of this process and their questions were answered properly.
