On July 26th, 2018 H.E. Mohammad Ashraf Ghani President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan and H.E Ch. Purchekov Minister of Energy of Turkmenistan inaugurated the 110 – KV Rabat khashan – Qalai Naw Power Transmission Line in Badghis Province.
Afghan President was accompanied by Dr. Homayoun Qayoumi Acting Minister of Finance, Mr. Mohammad Gul Khulmi Acting Minister of Ministry of Energy and Water, Mr. Yama Yari Minister of Rural Development, Mr. Amanullah Ghalib CEO of Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat, Mr. Shakir Kargar, advisor to the President on the affairs of the Commonwealth countries, Mr. Mirwais Nab Ambassador of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan to Turkmenistan and other high level Government officials.
Afghan President pointed that the relations between Afghanistan and Turkmenistan in the economic sphere is growing and also appreciated the role of the President of Turkmenistan for promoting regional economic integration.
The Afghan President added: Inauguration of this power line is a good example of cooperation between both countries. Afghanistan has full potential to transmit electric energy from Central Asia to South Asia.
The length of the line is 52 Kilometers and is capable of transmitting 110 – Kv electricity. The mentioned sub-station provides electricity to 7000 families.
