Afghan and Iranian Ambassadors Discussed Mutual Areas of Interest

Khan Wali Khan Basharmal Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan met with Iranian Ambassador Gholam Abbas Arbab Khales.

Mr. Basharmal spoke about both countries’ brotherly relations and informed the Iranian ambassador about the strong Afghan commitment towards regional stability after the withdrawal of international forces from Afghanistan.

Afghanistan and Iran can work together in higher education, trade, and cultural affairs. Such cooperation will boost the economy of the people of both countries, he said.

Afghan Ambassador shed light on the peace process and the vision of H.E. President of I.R. Afghanistan.

The Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran also highlighted the contribution of his country to the development of Afghanistan and proposed to work together in the cultural and educational areas. Iranian ambassador uttered that Iran stands with the Afghan people and the government for tackling the security situations after the withdrawal of international forces from Afghanistan.

He further added that ‘we are brothers, and we can facilitate the Afghan trade and transit more than anyone else.’

A joint cultural event as well, an educational symposium was also agreed.
