His Excellency Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan on 25th November 2016 arrived in Turkmenistan for a three-day official visit to attend Global Conference on Sustainable Transport and to inaugurate “Imamnazar – Aqina” International Railway Corridor of Asia.
The President is accompanied by H.E. Eklil Hakimi Minister of Finance, Mohammadullah Batash Minister of Transport, Engineer Mahmoud Baligh Minister of Public Works, Abdul Salam Rahimi Director General of Administrative Office of the President and Council of Ministers’ Secretariat, Homayoun Qayoumi Advisor to the President and other High level officials.
The conference agenda includes a wide range of topical issues, such as the sustainable transport and environmental change, energy and transport, urban transport system and road transport links between cities and villages, investment in the transport sector and its financing, international cooperation in the transport sector and its legal base, the development of multilateral transport corridors, infrastructure and traffic safety.
President Ashraf Ghani will also see the exhibition of products of Turkmenistan, the Olympic Village, Textile Factory in Ashgabat and will deliver speech at the Institute of International Relations of Turkmenistan.
On evening of November 27th President along with the High Level Delegation will travel to Imamnazar (Turkmenistan) and Aqina (Afghanistan) to inaugurate the International Railway Corridor of Asia.
The President will also meet President of Georgian in the sideline of the above mentioned to discuss the expansion of relations between the two countries.
