Interview with the Turkmen National TV on the Occasion of 26th Independence Anniversary of Turkmenistan

Meerwais Nab Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan to Turkmenistan on behalf of H.E. M. Ashraf Ghani President and the people of I.R. Afghanistan wholeheartedly congratulated H.E. Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov President and the people of Turkmenistan on the occasion of the 26th independence anniversary.

Ambassador Nab said that in the past years Turkmenistan with its neutral diplomacy has identified itself as an independent and neutral state in the world.

United Nations support of the permanent diplomacy, implementation of infrastructural, trade and transit projects, cooperation in the fields of energy are the major achievements of Turkmenistan in the past years.

Turkmenistan government under the wise leadership of H.E. Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has played a vital role in economic growth of its people.

Turkmenistan is a major player in connecting South Asia to Central Asia through I.R. Afghanistan with the implementation of projects like Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India gas pipeline, Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Tajikistan Railway and Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan electricity transmission.

Ambassador Nab highlighted the successful hosting of the 5th Asian Indoor & Martial Arts Games in Ashgabat and congratulated President and the people of Turkmenistan for achieving first position.

He added that Turkmenistan once again showed its ability for hosting such sports event.

Ambassador Nab noted that participation of over 238 athletes from I.R. Afghanistan show the importance that has been given to sports and thanked the government of Turkmenistan for generous hospitality offered to the Afghan delegation during the AIMAG 2017.

Afghan Ambassador mentioned that hosting of the upcoming even of the seventh Regional Economic Cooperation Conference on Afghanistan RECCA-VII on November 14-15, 2017 in Ashgabat shows the interest and commitments of the government of Turkmenistan for the regional integration and connectivity.
