H.E Dr. Abdullah Abdullah Chief Executive of I.R. Afghanistan met with H.E Raşit Meredov Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan who visited Kabul to participate in the Fifth Meeting of the Joint Commission on Security Cooperation Between I.R. Afghanistan and Turkmenistan.
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan delivered the best wishes of H.E Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, President of Turkmenistan to H.E Dr. Abdullah Abdullah Chief Executive of I.R. Afghanistan.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan supported the peace and reconciliation process under the Afghanistan’s leadership. He also mentioned about the practical implementation of the TAPI gas project, the extension of the 10-Km railway at Agina, the construction a mosque near the railway line, the extension of the electricity and export gas to Afghanistan.
The talks also included discussions on the holding of parliamentary elections, preparations for the presidential elections, peace talks, the establishment of a joint port facility between provinces of both countries.
H.E Dr. Abdullah Abdullah welcomed Turkmenistan’s efforts for implementation of regional projects like TAPI gas pipeline.
