Afghanistan Received Three Bronze and One Silver Medals in Ashgabat Kick boxing Competition

Asian Kick boxing Confederation (WAKO Asia) Championships 2016/17 at the Martial Arts Arena in Olympic Complex kicks off in Ashgabat.

The Asian Kick boxing Championships is a part of the Inspiring Ashgabat Test Event Series, which also included the Senior Asian Weightlifting Championships and the Central Asian Short Course Swimming Tournament, and took place between 23 and 30 April.

Afghanistan received one Silver and three Bronze medals in these games.

Turkmenistan and Iran are on top of the medal table, followed by Kyrgyzstan (seven, seven, 12), Tajikistan (six, four, three), Iraq (three, one, seven), India (one, seven, 23), Macau (one, three, four), Syria (one, one, six), Chinese Taipei (one silver, five bronze), Malaysia (one silver, three bronze), Nepal (one silver, one bronze), Korea (three bronze) and the Philippines (two bronze). The final day of kick boxing action started at the Martial Arts Arena on Sunday morning.

Mr. Mohammadullah Afzali, Counselor of I.R. Afghanistan in Turkmenistan at a reception hosted by the Embassy of I.R. Afghanistan congratulated the Afghan Sportsmen for their victory and encouraged them for better performance in the upcoming Ashgabat 2017 Asian Indoor Games to be held in Ashgabat late 2017.

He added: Afghanistan and Turkmenistan also plan for the development of the cooperation in the field of sport and to hold joint sport events.
