Afghanistan has been granted full membership of Asian Cricket Council, Afghanistan’s Cricket Board announced Wednesday.
The decision came during the annual meeting of ACC at its headquarters in Colombo, Sri Lanka this week.
With that, ACB executive chief Shafiqullah Stanikzai also became a member of ACC executive committee allowing him to take active participation in decision-making in the organization.
The ACB said that in the latest assembly, there were also talks about a series between Afghanistan and Bangladesh which would be announced later.
In another major development, ACB said that Afghanistan will host cricket teams from Saudi Arabia, Maldives, Bahrain and Qatar at Kabul International Cricket Ground and who will compete against Afghanistan’s under-23 squad.
