Afghan President Met With Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan

H.E. Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan met with H.E Raşit Meredov Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan who visited Kabul to participate in the fifth meeting of the Joint Commission on Security Cooperation Between I.R. Afghanistan and Turkmenistan.

Mr. Meredov delivered the best wishes of H.E Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, President of Turkmenistan to H.E. Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan and congratulated him for the recent parliamentary elections.

While welcoming the Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Afghan President told him to deliver his best wishes to the President of Turkmenistan whom he consider him as a brother.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan supported the peace and reconciliation process under the Afghanistan’s leadership and said that the major economical and infrastructural projects between I.R. Afghanistan and Turkmenistan can play positive role on security, stability and prosperity of the people of both countries.

He mentioned that Turkmenistan is always ready to cooperate Afghanistan with regional projects.

Afghan President mentioned Turkmenistan as a friend and brotherly country and said that Turkmenistan’s efforts to mobilize large projects is very important for the region.

He said, the benefits of major projects including electricity Transmission from Turkmenistan to Pakistan through Afghanistan will benefit all the participating countries.
