On Tuesday, April 6, 2021 Mr. Mohammad Qasim Halimi, Minister of Hajj and Religious Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan met with Mr. Khoja Goliev Elkap Agamuradovich Mufti of Turkmenistan.
In this meeting, the two sides emphasized the need for religious-cultural and historical commonalities between the two countries and discussed strengthening their cooperation in the relevant fields.
The Afghan Minister of Hajj and Religious Affairs put light on the peace process and added that the violence in Afghanistan has killed and injured many innocent people including women, men, and children, and this must end in Afghanistan for the sake of regional stability.
Turkmen Mufti said that according to Islamic injunctions, the Muslim community must strive for peace, security, and stability. He added that there is no military solution to the Afghan problem. However, both sides suggested that negotiation and political options are the best ways to end war and violence in Afghanistan.
Turkmen’s side wished of preventing the killing and wounding of innocent people by ensuring a permanent ceasefire in Afghanistan.
In this regard, the two sides stressed the importance of establishing peace and stability in Afghanistan and the positive role of Turkmenistan in this process.
