On 21st February 2017, H.E Dr. Nasir Ahmad Andisha, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan and H.E Vepa Hadjyev Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan hold a media event to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between both the countries.
Dr. Andisha said that Afghanistan was among the first countries to recognize the Independence of Turkmenistan.
He added that our people to people relationship goes back to centuries.
The Deputy Minister also highlighted the importance of Turkmenistan in implementation of regional and international projects like TAPI Pipeline, Lapis Lazuli Trade and Transit Corridor, Transmission of electricity from Turkmenistan to Pakistan via Afghanistan and Railway Lines.
H.E Vepa Hadjyev Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan in his speech said that I am glad today Islamic Republic of Afghanistan and Turkmenistan are celebrating 25th Year of establishment of their diplomatic relations.
He added that the diplomatic relationship between both the countries established on 21st February 1992.
He said that bilateral relation between Islamic Republic of Afghanistan and Turkmenistan holds great importance and within last 10 years, the parties held total 13 state, official and working visits.
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affair of Turkmenistan added that both countries support each other in nominating their candidatures the various international organizations.
He also mentioned about the Afghan students studying in different universities and institutes in Turkmenistan.
